Jeffrey Odham
Jeffrey Odham was elected to serve as Mayor of New Bern, NC in July 2022.
Jeffrey Odham is a true New Bern local — raised by the very community he’s served for over a decade. He began as Alderman for the Sixth Ward in 2013 and has proudly served as Mayor since 2022.
He and his wife, Jeannie, also a New Bern native, married in 2002 and are raising their son, Gavin, right here in the city they both love. You’ll often find the
Odhams at New Life Church or out supporting local events around town.
Outside City Hall, Jeffrey manages regional operations for a national paint company and previously ran a small business alongside Jeannie. He knows the value of hard work and brings that same steady, practical mindset to city leadership.
Whether it’s keeping taxes low, growing responsibly, or strengthening neighborhoods, Jeffrey stays focused on what’s best for New Bern — not just for today, but for the future. He believes in straight answers, steady leadership, and always putting New Bern first.

Mayor Odham fights for the taxpayer. During his nearly twelve years in elected office, he has never been on the side of the vote for a tax increases. He’s constantly fought against raising taxes and will continue to do so when re-elected.
More revenue to the town to keep costs down
Mayor Odham worked to attract record breaking crowds to Footloose on the Neuse, spearheaded the effort behind the new fishing pier downtown, and collaborated with leaders to bring the Southpaws Baseball Team to Kafer Park. Jeffrey is focused on encouraging more business, opportunity, and revenue to our town.
Continued progress in Local Government
Mayor Odham is solutions driven— he placed more resources behind the police department so they could operate confidently and safely. He also restructured how the city handled economic development, making sure voices from our entire community are heard. The results from these efforts are clear as we see more businesses and families call New Bern home.
